Monday July 27
Gallup, NM to Flagstaff,
Arizona - 185 miles
Left Gallup at 8:15 am and
tried to stay on US 66 route all the way but we were interrupted by the
unpaved roads. The scenery of landscape was improved as we went
farther to the West. No question about it! It was cool in
the morning but it became hot around 100 degrees by noon. As we
moved on the bike, it did not matter.
Bobby took photo of each
individual biker along the way.
Lupton gave us a grand
start with majestic red cliffs.
We made time to visit the
Petrified Forest National Park. Interesting geography!
We had lunch at Holbrook
and saw the Wigwam Motel that looked like real teepee. I think
that it would be fun place to stay overnight.
Some of us visited the
Meteor Crater, one of the most extraordinary places on earth.
After this visit, we headed toward Flagstaff for overnight. We
were wet from rain and hail.
Paul Stefurak met his young
brother who lives in Flagstaff. His brother brought some family
albums to share with us so we knew Paul better!
By nightfall we were at the
Museum Club bar where many bikers and fans were gathered. Bobby Skedsmo |

In the Petrified Forest National Park, Janice poured the
purified water inside her helmet to keep her head cool.

created the size of 20 football fields.
