Saint Louis to Springfield,
Missouri – 216.5 miles
Someone said that I am
taking Jax Levesque's place taking the daily newsletter as he had
always done it so at any deaf event.
Our day began at 8 am
visiting the Gateway Arch. It was well worth the time to
sightsee. In addition Bev Jean was with us from Chicago to St.
Louis before she left for Tennessee. By 10 am we were ready to
move westward in the wet rain. We survived the soggy rain for
three hours.
In Rolla, Missouri we
stopped for a lunch at US 66 Cafe. Excellent place to eat
(fancy restaurant but very reasonable price)!
The rain stopped. We
had a brief visit at the Harley-Davidson store in Lebanon.
With 50 miles to go we were
rushed to arrive at Springfield because the deaf event would take
place at 6 pm. I was a little naught biker. I left the
group and went on my own way along the US 66 routes alone. I
enjoyed the scene so much, but my roommates waited for my
registration to a motel for an hour. Sorry! Ummmm!
Two deaf bikers from Tulsa,
Oklahoma joined us.
By nightfall we dined at
the beer brewery where the local deaf people were gathered. We
had a nice night. The rain resumed by the time we got back to
our motel at ten pm. We were somewhat wet.
