Appreciation

General Chairperson's final words:

As your 2005 General Chairperson, I want to express how successful our Sturgis Deaf Rally was with the help of you all.  To the committees, helpers, and friends who helped make the program successful, I want to thank you all for being there.  It wasn't easy to handle such a big crowd of over 200 bikes over 400 deaf-hearted bikers.   As far as I know, there were no serious or critical issues with the campground.

Also, with the help of our sponsors, it surely gave us extra excitement like refreshments, ice cream, prizes and more. The sponsors will be remembered for their generosity.

I hope to see you all again in five more years (2010) at Sturgis.  I want to wish Marlene Hodge, our new general chairperson, the very best of luck to coordinate a successful program in 2010. We should all look forward to helping Marlene out!

DBAly yours,
Paul. T. Stefurak, 2005 General Chairperson.

Email to Calvin

Hi, Calvin Rausch, IP-Relay.com representative,

To my surprise, you got along very well with the DBA bikers and you had good high spirits and a "smiley" personality. The reason for my surprise, most professors don't know how to get along with bikers but you did a great job!  You also participated in the games and wanted to win the barrel and slowest contests.  You did well. You also  gave away 6 D-links and routers thru drawings.  We all were thrilled to see that prize. Thank you for your time and for doing your part with us.

Of course, we would like to see you again in 2010 with bigger prize, smile.

We won't forget you,

Thank you again,
Paul. T. Stefurak, General Chairperson.

Email to Brenda

Dear Brenda French, Outreach office Director in Rapid City

CSD's picnic was a great thing for all of us, deaf bikers, friends and visitors.  Boy, CSD contributed a lot to us by setting up a huge tent, providing food and prize drawings. A new record number of bikes showed up with 169 bikes and over 500 people. CSD also did a great job of finding more food for us when it ran short. Bikers are hungry people!  Good job to get more food

to feed us.  We would like CSD to be involved with us again in the future.  Brenda, you did an excellent job doing many things -- developing the banner, distributing the T-shirts and bringing several important deaf people from Sioux Falls who were Ben Soukup, Bob Davila, Frank Turk, Peter Bailey and others.  Ben also brought his trike to be part of us. We loved that!

We want to express our huge thank to CSD and won't ever forget your beautiful hospitality!.

Thank you again,
Paul. T. Stefurak, General Chairperson

Email to Kay

Dear Kay Vincent, Sorenson Communications Coordinator:

In the last minute, you yourself couldn't make it to the DBA event but you kept your word in getting that delicious ice cream to all of deaf bikers and friends.  You called the ice cream company and Jax picked up the ice cream to be given out. The bikers all enjoyed having it and want to say a big Thank You!"   Of course, we would like to see you in person and, next time, we may help you dress up with real biker leather clothes, smile.

Thank you for your effort with us,
Paul. T. Stefurak, General Chairperson

Email to Elena

Dear Elena Kruger, Sprint Coordinator,

At first at 5 pm at Friday evening, it was rainy,  we worried if you planned to cancel but at 7pm, the rain stopped. Over 150 deaf bikers and friends were at the social area waiting for your arrival. I told them you would bring a huge amount of food to share. They doubted me, but then you arrived and asked them to help carry all the food to picnic table, they all stood there with their mouths open in surprise. It was difficult to measure how many people showed up but it was just enough, It filled everybody's stomach, smile. Best food of that week, we really enjoyed eating it. You, Elena, gave a short speech about VP, new feature and encouraged us to use Sprint for telecommunication purposes.

Of course, we want to say "Thank you for your effort and time with us!"    We won't forget you.  Hope to see you again in 2010.

Thank you again,
Paul T. Stefurak, General Chairperson
